Cisco Security Agent (CSA) is a Host based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) that provides centrally managed endpoint security.

CSA combines zero-update protection via application analysis, data loss prevention and signature based anti-virus services within a single host based agent. CSA protects both server and desktops through defined security and application policies that is centrally controlled.

Zero-update Protection

Cisco Security Agent protects endpoints from malicious attacks, rootkits, worms and operating system vulnerabilities. Zero-update protection ensures protection from yet unpublished vulnerabilities and reduces emergency response activities which usually involve patch related downtime.

Data Loss Prevention

Cisco Security Agent provides both visibility and control over your organisations sensitive data. CSA protects data from both malicious or accidental user activity and forms of targeted malware. Access to sensitive data can be controlled by a defined policy and is fully audited.

Signature Based Anti-Virus

The zero-update behaviour based protection is the most reliable method of stopping attacks on endpoints, but signature based anti-virus detection can still provide a useful detection and removal  function for known malware.

Compliance and Enforcement

Cisco Security Agent's policy engine offers compliance auditing and control. Both pre-defined and custom built polices are centrally managed through a web based interface. Pre-defined policies include;

• Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) policies to ensure compliance to the standard.

• Disabling the use of portable media such as USB flash drives

• Location based policies

• Centralised Management
