Unified Communications 500 Series

The Cisco Unified Communications 500 (UC500) is a series of Unified Communications platforms for small business customers up to 104 users. The UC500 provides a call control platform which includes Cisco Call Unified Communications Manager Express, Cisco Unity Express voicemail, wireless and firewall features with a single, affordable appliance.

The UC500 platform combines several components to enable enhanced communication with both external customers and internal staff. These components include;

Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express

Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express provides call processing for Cisco Unified IP Phones. Unified Communications Manager Express is a reliable, feature-rich telephony solution that is simple to administer, and maintain.

Cisco Unity Express

Embedded Cisco Unity Express enables voicemail, desktop messaging, and Automated Attendant services for increased customer service and a rich employee communications experience.

Cisco IP Phones

The UC500 series supports a wide variety of handsets from the Cisco Small Business SPA series, through to feature rich Cisco Unified 7900 based handsets and includes desktop and wireless variants.

Cisco Unified CallConnectors

The Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series can integrate with Windows desktop applications through Cisco Unified Call Connectors. These connectors integrate with software such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, or Salesforce.com CRM and provides features such as click-to-dial.

LAN Switching and Routing

The Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series has an integrated, managed Ethernet switch that provides eight ports of 10/100 PoE optimized for VoIP. An expansion port allows connection to external PoE switches and a WAN port provides an Ethernet connection for Internet connectivity.

Firewall for Network Security

To provide security at the WAN edge, the UC500 utilises the Cisco IOS Firewall which stateful-inspection protection to protect the entry point of your network.

Virtual Private Networking

The UC500 series have VPN functions which allow secure connectivity to other offices, business partners or remote access functions for your internal staff. This facilitates mobile working by providing constant access to office based applications including VoIP.

Wireless Mobility Services

The Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series support an integrated WLAN access point option for secure WLAN connectivity. Wireless services allow greater mobility for employees, partners, and customers, resulting in increased productivity. This can also be combined with small business Cisco 521 access points and Cisco 526 Wireless LAN controllers.
