Cisco IPS 4200 Series

Cisco IPS 4200 range

Cisco IPS 4200 series sensors identify, classify and stop malicious traffic before if can enter your network. The Cisco 4200 series provides the following benefits;

• Protection across the entire network stack from the application layer to layer two Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)

• Global correlation feature which harnesses the power of Cisco Security Intelligence Operations for threat management. This feature reduces false positives and stops more malicious activity than traditional signature based IPS solutions.

• Cisco IPS 4200 series can be deployed in inline mode, promiscuous IDS mode, or a hybrid version which in both inline and promiscuous mode.

• A single IPS sensor can protect your network

• Investment protection through support for future IPv6 requirements

• The Cisco IPS 4200 series is available in different interface configurations including both copper and fiber gigabit and 10 gigabit connections. Logical VLAN interfaces are also supported for maximum flexibility.

Cisco IOS IPS

Cisco have integrated Intrusion Prevention System features into Cisco IOS software. This allows Cisco routers to provide, inline, deep packet inspection. IOS based IPS offers the following benefits;

• Integration of IPS features into Cisco IOS routers which are already in place, without the need for additional hardware investment.

• Compliments router based firewall and VPN functions

• Ease of management through Cisco Router and Device Manager (SDM)

• Uses the same signature database as found on Cisco IPS 4200 series appliances

Cisco ASA IPS Edition

Cisco IPS features are support on Cisco ASA Firewall's through the AIP-SSM (Advanced Inspection and Prevention Security Services module). For more information click here.
